5. Data Storage and Security
5.1 Where We Store Data
Database Storage: All persistent account data is stored in a secure database, including user account information, quiz results and preferences, saved items, share links, and authentication sessions.
Browser Session Storage: Before you sign in, quiz results are temporarily stored in your browser's session storage. This allows you to use our service anonymously and is automatically synced to our database when you sign in.
Caching: We use caching services for performance optimization. This cache does not contain personal information.
5.2 Security Measures
We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), secure authentication (OAuth 2.0 via Google), database security with access controls, secure session management, and regular security updates. We do not store passwords. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Data Retention
- Active accounts: Data is retained while your account is active.
- Anonymous data: Browser session data is cleared when you close your browser.
- Authenticated data: Stored until you delete your account.
- Saved items: Retained until you remove them or delete your account.
- Analytics data: Aggregated and anonymized data may be retained indefinitely.
When you delete your account, we will delete your information within 30 days and remove your public profile. To delete your account, contact us at support@jaunt.city.
