Terms of Service

Welcome to Jaunt! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Jaunt's travel discovery web application and services (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, accessing, or using Jaunt, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Jaunt.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

3. Description of Service

Jaunt is a travel discovery platform that provides:

• A travel preference assessment
• Personalized city and destination recommendations
• AI-generated travel content and suggestions
• Tools to save and organize travel preferences
• Optional public profiles to share your travel interests
• Shareable links for trip planning

You can use our core recommendation features without creating an account. Authentication is required to save preferences or create a profile.

4. Account Registration

4.1 Creating an Account

To access save and profile features, you must create an account using Google Sign-In. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information; maintain the security of your account through Google; not share your account with others; and notify us immediately of any unauthorized use at support@jaunt.city. You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.

4.2 Profile Information

When you create an account, you'll receive a unique profile identifier that serves as your public profile URL if you choose to create a public profile.

5. Use of the Service

5.1 Permitted Use

You may use the Service for lawful purposes related to travel planning and discovery, in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

5.2 Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
• Violate any laws, regulations, or third-party rights
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Service
• Use automated means (bots, scrapers) to access the Service without permission
• Upload or transmit viruses or harmful code
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users
• Impersonate any person or entity
• Collect personal information about other users without consent
• Reverse engineer or attempt to derive the source code of the Service
• Copy or redistribute Service content for commercial purposes
• Submit false or misleading information
• Create multiple accounts to abuse the Service

6. Intellectual Property Rights

6.1 Ownership

The Service, including all content, features, functionality, software, and algorithms, is owned by Jaunt and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service without our prior written consent.

6.2 User Content

You retain ownership of any content you submit to the Service. By submitting content, you grant Jaunt a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, and display such content for the purpose of operating and improving the Service. You represent and warrant that you have all necessary rights to grant this license and that your content does not violate any third-party rights or contain unlawful material.

6.3 AI-Generated Content

AI-generated content created by the Service is provided for your personal, non-commercial use. You may not republish content on other platforms without attribution, use content to create competing services, systematically collect or aggregate content from the Service, or claim ownership of AI-generated content.

6.4 Feedback

If you provide feedback or suggestions about the Service, you grant us the right to use such feedback without any obligation to compensate you.

7. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with Google Sign-In, AI services for content generation, and caching and hosting providers. We do not control third-party services. Your use of third-party services is at your own risk and subject to their terms and conditions. By using features that generate personalized content, you acknowledge that your preferences may be processed by AI services according to their terms and privacy policies.

8. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

8.1 Service "As Is"

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT RESULTS WILL BE ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR RELIABLE.

8.2 Travel Recommendations Disclaimer

JAUNT PROVIDES TRAVEL DISCOVERY AND RECOMMENDATION TOOLS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT RECOMMENDATIONS WILL MATCH YOUR PREFERENCES, VERIFY THE ACCURACY OF DESTINATION INFORMATION, MAKE RESERVATIONS OR BOOKINGS ON YOUR BEHALF, OR ASSUME RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR TRAVEL DECISIONS, SAFETY, OR EXPERIENCES. YOU ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR RESEARCHING DESTINATIONS, VERIFYING INFORMATION, AND ENSURING YOUR SAFETY WHILE TRAVELING.

8.3 Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, JAUNT SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, ANY RELIANCE ON RECOMMENDATIONS OR AI-GENERATED CONTENT, OR TRAVEL DECISIONS MADE BASED ON THE SERVICE. IN NO EVENT SHALL JAUNT'S TOTAL LIABILITY EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU HAVE PAID TO JAUNT IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100), WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Jaunt, its officers, directors, employees, contractors, agents, and service providers from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses, including attorneys' fees, arising out of your use of the Service, your content or public profile, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any applicable laws or third-party rights.

10. Termination

You may terminate your account at any time by discontinuing use of the Service, revoking Jaunt's access through your Google account settings, or contacting us at support@jaunt.city to request account deletion.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will cease.

11. Modifications to the Service and Terms

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time. We may also update these Terms from time to time, revising the effective date and notifying users of material changes via email or website notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes indicates acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of California, United States. Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in court for intellectual property matters. You agree that any proceeding shall be conducted on an individual basis — not as a class action. Before initiating arbitration, you agree to contact us at support@jaunt.city to attempt informal resolution within 30 days.

13. Miscellaneous

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Jaunt. If any provision is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect. You may not assign these Terms without our prior written consent.

15. Acknowledgment

By using Jaunt, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. You understand that Jaunt is a discovery and recommendation tool, not a travel booking service, and that you are responsible for your own travel decisions and safety.
